I am a small business located in San Diego, CA. I design and sew all of my yoga bags, backpacks, straps and slings. I also create zipper charms for your yoga mat bag zippers or some people like to hang them on their keychains or in their cars. Yoga themed anklets and foot jewelry are also on my list of creations.
Who We Are
From the start, I wanted my products to be made from natural materials, as much as possible, and to be made in the USA. To me, this just goes along with the theme of yoga in general. All of my mat bags are made from 100% cotton duck and trimed in 100% cotton indonesian Batik fabric. The straps are 100% cotton webbing, all of the hardware is metal. For the zippers I choose to use nylon. Although not a natural product, the only other choices were metal or plastic. Since the bags are exposed to moisture from wet mats, towels or clothes, metal was a bad choice as it can rust. And plastic was just out of the question. The lining on the medium and large bags is ripstop nylon. It is kind of impossible to find fabric that is water resistant and all natural. so I choose the nylon. It is durable and creates a water resistant layer in the pockets.
Our History
My idea for starting this business was created out of necessity. I walk to yoga nearly every day. The yoga bag I was using was worn over one shoulder. It was very uncomfortable and was effecting my posture, causing me pain. I needed a backpack to distribute the weight more evenly across my shoulders and back. The only backpacks I found for yoga were the typical “school backpacks” with an added strap for my mat. This wouldn’t work for me as those backpacks load from the top and you have to unload everything to get what is on the bottom. I set out to create a more user friendly bag that was also comfortable. The three separate large pockets on my mat bags make packing and finding your supplies much easier. The weight of the bag is distributed evenly across your back and the padded shoulder and waist straps make wearing the bag very comfortable.
